    The Blog Begins

The web log is about my travels and travails with a little car, a Triumph sports car from England. It was built in 1962, two years after me, and shipped to the US via New York harbour, then sold by a NY car dealer in 1963.

I bought the car when in an armpit-to-knuckles cast on my left arm after a motorcycling accident on SkyLine Drive in Virginia. For me, that was the end of motorcycling and the end of that motorcycle (also a Triumph, but a modern one). Happily, it wasn’t the end of me. I recovery and a latent interest arose in these Little British Cars - people even call then LBCs. I’ve had a great deal of fun in the three years since this car came home with me. In that time, I’ve done lots of work to make the car reliable and covered some 6,000 miles taking this old girl to a total of 94,000 miles. That is a little more than two circumnavigations of this planet, and we’re still going strong. I don’t have an image of the car on this laptop. I’ll have to post a picture of the car later… Anyway, what to do with this blog? I thought I’d use it to track what work I have done, plan to do, and where the car takes us. The big trip I’m planning is to drive Coast to Coast this Fall: Atlantic City to San Luis Obispo. Let’s see if I can pull it off….
